NAATI CCL Exam-Day Checklist
Use this definitive NAATI CCL exam-day checklist to prepare your equipment, ID, space, notes, and mindset before your online test begins.
The Quick Answer
A NAATI CCL exam-day checklist helps candidates prepare their space, documents, equipment, and mindset before the test. You must verify your ID, secure a private room, test your hardware, and review the official NAATI instructions to prevent disqualification.
Your Complete Checklist
To ensure you don't face unexpected technical failures or proctoring violations, tick off every item on this preparation list:
1. Check official NAATI candidate instructions.
Ensure you have read the most recent PDF provided by NAATI. They occasionally update the software requirements for their proctoring platform.
2. Prepare your ID.
You must have your physical government-issued Photo ID (Passport or Driver's License) on your desk. The examiner will ask you to hold it up to the webcam.
3. Test your internet connection.
Run a speed test. If your connection drops out during an audio segment, it may be recorded as a missed segment. Use a wired ethernet connection if possible.
4. Prepare permitted note-taking materials.
You are allowed up to 4 blank sheets of loose paper and a pen. Notebooks and electronic devices are strictly prohibited. You must hold the paper to the camera to prove it is blank.
5. Choose a quiet room.
You must be alone in a private room with the door closed. If a family member or roommate enters the room during the test, you will be disqualified.
6. Remove distractions.
Unplug secondary monitors, turn off your mobile phone entirely, and remove any textbooks or dictionaries from your desk area.
7. Practise one light dialogue before the test.
Warm up your cognitive pathways. Run through a single, familiar mock dialogue to get into the "interpreting zone" before you log in.
8. Avoid last-minute cramming.
Trying to memorize 50 new vocabulary words five minutes before the exam will only elevate your anxiety. Trust your preparation and stay calm.
Important Note
Always follow the latest official NAATI candidate instructions because test-day rules, allowed hardware, and software requirements may change without notice. Rely only on the official documentation emailed to you prior to your test date.
